United Arab Emirates, Dubai, 29 April 2025: In line with the Year of Community and the Social Agenda 33, the Dubai Health Authority has launched under Enaya a homecare initiative for senior citizens.

The initiative aims to enhance the quality of life of senior citizens and provide them with more comprehensive healthcare services at their homes.

The initiative also aims to achieve the objectives of Social Agenda 33 through direct communication with community members across various regions of the Emirate of Dubai, via interactive meetings to introduce the benefits of the Unified Government Health Insurance Programme 'Enaya', while listening to their opinions, observations, and ideas regarding the programme. This contributes to enhancing efficiency and ensuring optimal utilisation, as it serves as one of the main enablers for ensuring a sustainable healthy life for senior citizens, and strengthening the culture of prevention and comprehensive care, in alignment with the UAE's direction towards building a more cohesive and quality-driven society.

Mona Bajman, Acting CEO of the Health Insurance Sector at the Dubai Health Authority, stated that the authority is always working to provide comprehensive care for all residents of Dubai, particularly for senior citizens, who are accorded a priority in the authority's development plans and programmes.

She explained that the initiative embodies the commitment of the Dubai Health Authority to empower community members to become active partners in the healthcare system through direct communication with them and listening to their demands and needs related to health insurance, which contributes to developing health services targeted at beneficiaries of the programme.

She stated that the initiative, which will continue until the end of December in various community centres across the Emirate of Dubai, includes extensive medical examinations and services, targeting 155,000 individuals enrolled in the Unified Government Health Insurance Programme (Enaya)in Dubai.

She pointed out that the authority has prepared groups of specialised medical teams, which include highly qualified nursing staff, to commence its exceptional initiative. The medical teams will visit the homes of citizens based on pre-scheduled appointments, maintaining the highest levels of privacy and will also train family members as well as domestic workers. This will help refine everyone's expertise and equip them with modern and advanced methods for caring for senior citizens, tailored to their basic needs and health conditions, in accordance with the highest internationally recognised standards, ensuring that this cherished group receives comprehensive care and achieves their satisfaction and happiness.

She added that the authority has dedicated, as part of the same initiative, a campaign of comprehensive and extensive examinations and medical services, including more than 30 specialised services, among which are basic examinations and medical consultations that will be provided free of charge. The medical fields include: cardiovascular health, diabetes, liver health, kidney health, respiratory health, eye health, musculoskeletal health, mental health, skin health, in addition to general health and preventive services,  basic examinations, blood analysis, as well as obesity management and nutrition services.

She highlighted that service providers from hospitals and medical centres will communicate with all beneficiaries of the campaign through text messages and other means of communication, to directly inform them of their examination results, followed by the necessary recommendations for everyone.

Regarding the areas covered, she indicated that the examination and medical service campaign will cover all areas of Dubai, including eight centres. The locations and timings of the campaign have been established, starting today at the Rashid Centre for People of Determination, and continuing through to the end of December this year, at the (Senior Citizens Happiness Centre - Al Mamzar and Al Barsha Community) centres, as well as the areas of Umm Suqeim, Al Khawaneej, Al Mizhar, Al Rashidiya, and Hatta.

She clarified that the authority has completed all coordination and preparation work with all involved parties, particularly with those responsible for the Unified Government Health Insurance Programme, in addition to more than 15 hospitals and medical centre providers in the private health sector in Dubai, who have committed to providing specialised medical teams and the necessary equipment to conduct examinations and deliver required services to nearly 155,000 individuals in Dubai.

This qualitative initiative reflects the commitment of the Dubai Health Authority to the vision and directions of the Emirate in enhancing the quality of life for senior citizens, and solidifying Dubai's position as a leading global city in providing sustainable community healthcare, in line with the goals of the Social Agenda 33 and the Community Year 2025 initiative.
