To check if your results are ready you should get in touch with the Medical Fitness Center where the test was performed as only they have the system to check the result.

Why am I not able to view the registration form window (Health card) ?

If you are using the Windows XP operating/working system and the pop-up blocker is turned on then please visit the user manual for help.  If you are still unable to view the registration form window then please take your health card number and reference number to any primary health center and you will be able to collect a printed copy of the registration form

What is Sheryan system?

Sheryan is the name given to DHA’s online licensing system for healthcare facilities and professionals. Details and access to all licensing services can be found there.

How do I view the DHA comments on my application?

Comments can be viewed from “My Applications” page under Active or Closed applications tabs depending on the status of the application. 

Where can I find details about different licensing processes?

​All services and their related information including timeframe, fees, requirements, etc. can be found in the professionals service catalogue or the facilities service catalogue.

I would like to work in the Emirate of Dubai, how do I know if I am eligible for a DHA healthcare professional license?

Are documents in foreign languages other than Arabic or English accepted?

​No, documents need to be legally translated and uploaded in the application along with the original copies.​

Do I have to attest any of my certificate(s)/ documents before applying for the license?

​No, you are not required to attest any document(s) unless it has been specifically requested by DHA credentialing team ​

Is the high secondary school certificate (As per my country specific education) required for the application process?

Yes, it is mandatory to be uploaded it in the application unless your degree is a BSc or higher

What is the logbook?

It is a record of surgical procedures performed by professional of surgical specialties for the last two years. The logbook should be signed, stamped and include the names, number and dates of performed surgeries. Please note that the logbook does not require Dataflow verification

What do I do if I do not have a registration/ license from the country of last employment?

If there was no registration/license in country of last employment, The professional must provide a formal letter issued by a government entity (Medical Council or Ministry of Health) confirming that the professional is allowed to practice without a registration/license and that they are in good standing. If the professional did not manage to obtain the mentioned letter, an official Good Standing Certificate (GSC) from last employer confirming the same must be provided. 

I haven’t been clinically practicing for more than 2 years, am I eligible to apply for DHA license?

​Yes you are, however, the gap must not exceed 5 years for non-locals and 10 years for locals. A trainee title restriction might apply on your registration until you fulfil the gap requirements as set in the Professional Qualifications requirements (PQR) ​

What is Dubai Medical Registry?

​Dubai Medical Registry is a database for information about all healthcare professionals and facilities with active registration/ license within Dubai Health Authority.​

The Registry contains multiple filters for easy access of details about either professionals or facilities​

What does a "position" mean?

​A position consists of a Category (e.g. physician, dentist), Title (e.g. specialist, consultant) and Specialty (e.g. cardiology, pediatrics). Each professional is allowed to hold a maximum of 3 positions.​

If the Self-assessment Tool result was “not eligible”; can I still proceed into applying for a registration?

​You may proceed with 'Request a Manual Review' application; which is a paid service that require the DHA credentialing team to check if you fulfill the requirements for the position you are applying for.

In case of approval, you will have to proceed into applying for “Get Registered" service.​


Can I renew an expired registration?

​No, the registration can only be renewed three (3) months before expiry or three (30) months post the license cancellation date.

If the registration expires, you are required to apply again and complete all requirement in order to become registered.​


What is the difference between a Full Registration and a Provisional Registration?

Full registration allows a healthcare facility to activate the professional license immediately, because the professional has already provided verified evidence of experience/ registration for the last 2 years proofing continuity of practice.

Provisional registration secures the approved position without the need for re-assessment. However, if a healthcare facility wanted to activate the professional’s license, the professional must apply to “Renew Full Registration” and update their account with verified evidence of continuity of practice. 

Does renewing my registration guarantee approval on the position?

​Yes, unless a gap of practice of over 2 years has been detected, then a trainee title restriction shall be added (The trainee restriction will be removed once you complete the gap of practice requirements as stated in the Unified Healthcare Professional Requirements (PQR)

Can I start practicing once I have an active registration?

​A valid registration is like an eligibility proof to start job hunting in Dubai. The registration must become an active license by a hiring facility in order to start practicing.​

What is meant by PQR?

​PQR refers to the Unified Healthcare Professional Qualification Requirements which is the licensing guideline followed within UAE by the regulatory authorities, Ministry of Health and Prevention,  Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and Dubai Health Authority. It lists the licensing titles and the requirements and specification for each of those titles. The PQR document have been transferred into a free automated self-assessment service, where you can get an immediate evaluation of your credentials.​

How often does a PQR gets updated?

​Every 2 to 3 years the Authorities (Ministry of Health and Prevention. Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and Dubai Health Authority) publish an updated version of the document that may include new titles, new recognized countries and updated requirements.​

My title is not listed in the Healthcare Professionals Qualification Requirements document (PQR), what shall I do?

You may apply for the most relevant (closest) title to your qualification and experience and DHA will review your eligibility for the position(s) as per your credentials.

What is a PSV and Why is PSV necessary?

​Primary source verification (PSV) aims to ensure safe and effective professional practice by verifying the documents provided for licensure directly from their original source(s) by a specialized international company called "Dataflow".​

How long does the Primary Source Verification (PSV) process require?

The standard timeframe for completing a PSV application is 24 working days from payment date

What is the validity of a PSV report?

​PSV reports have no validity. However, DHA may request verification of an already verified document if it has been updated (e.g. An extended duration to experience that has been verified earlier).​

Are Dataflow reports issued by other authorities, recognized by DHA?

​Yes they are, however there shall apply a report transfer fee of AED 100 dirham and DHA may request verification of an already verified document if it has been updated​

Is Dubai Healthcare City Authority DHCC verification recognized?

​Yes, it is, please upload the verification document within your application (under the Other Documents section) and refrain from verifying those documents with Dataflow.​

I have a data flow report but it is not in my account. How do I upload my report?

​If your Dataflow verified records are not present under the “Verifications and CBT Assessments" page in your Sheryan account, please apply for Transfer service on the Dataflow website (This process may take up to five working days and it is a free service unless your report is issued by another authority, then transfer fees shall apply)​

What type of exam am I required to take for my DHA License?

You are required to pass one assessment only for each position you apply for (A Computer Based Testing or an Oral Assessment). To know the type of assessment you require, kindly apply for the “Self-Assessment Tool” service

What is a Prometric assessment?

DHA conducts Computer Based Testing (CBT) as a mode of assessing the professional applying to practice in the emirate of Dubai. DHA runs its CBTs through a recognized global leader in technology-enabled testing, called Prometric. Prometric, with its centers across the globe, enables professionals to attend the assessment from their home country

Does DHA provide study references?

​DHA does not provide any references for (Oral Assessment). However, for Prometric exam, some specialties references are available on Prometric website  ​

What document(s) should I bring when I appear for DHA assessment?

The original passport is the only required document

What is the assessment exemption criteria?

When and where are the assessment results announced?

​Prometric Assessment results are instant while oral assessment results are published within 5 working days.

The results will be displayed in the application form (Get Registered or Add/Upgrade Professional Registration). Prometric results can be also found in the “Verifications and CBT Assessments" page in the professional account​


If I failed the assessment, when can I appear for a second chance?

​There is no grace period to take another assessment.  You may re-apply again once the first attempt is completed.​

Is the malpractice insurance required for license activation?

​There is no need to upload the malpractice insurance in the license activation application; however, it should be available and valid, covering the period of the professional's practice​

When can the Professional License be renewed?

Healthcare facilities can apply to renew the professional’s license three (3) month before the expiry date. In case the license was not renewed within the mentioned period, fines will apply and the license can still be renewed within a period of maximum six (6) months (clinical practice is not permitted if the professional license is expired)

If the professional license has been expired for over 6 months. How can it be renewed?

​The facility must apply to cancel the professional license paying all the penalties then the facility must apply to activate the license again.​

My license position did not change after completing the Add/Upgrade Professional Registration service, what shall I do?

​In order for the updated position to reflect on your current license, the facility must apply for Add/Upgrade Professional License service.

However, to activate a new license with the updated position, the facility should apply for Activate Professional License service


What is the validity of the updated professional license (a new position or an upgraded title has been added)?

​The validity shall remain the same as the validity of the license before the update​

What is the validity of the professional license?

Why is my activated license status is showing as 'Inactive - Awaiting Facility License’?

​If the facility that has as Initial Facility License Approval with status as 'Inactive' hires Professionals; their license status will be set to 'Inactive - Awaiting Facility License' until the facility license gets activated (Professionals must not practice unless their license status becomes Active)​

What should be done in case the professional license card was not received although it has been issued more than 5 days ago?

​Please email Zajel customer care office on info@zajel.com or contact their toll free number 80021111.​

Can I start practicing without receiving my license card?

​Yes, the license card will be deliver by courier within 5 working days. An interim license will be issued in the system as well.
Note: The license card has no validity and renewed license card shall not be printed. License validity can always be checked and tracked from the online licensing system - Sheryan​

Where to find the interim license in the system?

The interim license (valid for 14 days from the license activation date) can be found in the facility account under the “Closed” applications tab. 

I have a Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) license, am I eligible to practice under DHA?

​Yes, please proceed into applying for “Get Registered" service (the DHA license will be activated as part time license unless the DHCC license status was Inactive/ cancelled)​

Do I need to apply for a license for the visiting doctors?

​Yes, you need to apply for DHA license for visiting professionals who wish to clinically practice their specialty in Dubai for limited time (procedures and steps are similar to other professionals)​

How many part time licenses I am allowed to obtain?

​General practitioners, general dentists and all other categories' professionals may have one (1) part time license.

Specialist physicians and dentists of non-surgical specialties may have 2 part time licenses.

Specialist physicians and dentists of surgical specialties and consultants of all specialties may have 4 part time licenses (practicing in a branch of the full time facility does not require obtaining a part time license).

Can my part time license be of a different position than my full time license?

​Yes, you may activate a part time license on a position that is not listed in the full time license.​

Will updating (add/upgrade positions) to the full time license reflect on the part time license(s)?

​No, the part time license position(s) will not change unless the part time facility apply to update it​

Is practicing in a branch of the full time facility requires applying for part time license?

No, according to Circular no. (80) a professional may practice at all branches of the full time facility without the need to apply for a part time license. However, the branches must be listed in the professional’s account (working in branches of the part time facility requires applying for another part time license)

If the full time facility removed my part time approval, will my part time license(s) be cancelled?

​The current part time license(s) shall remain active. However, they cannot be renewed and it is required to have an approval to obtain a new part time license(s) in the future.​

Will my part time license(s) be cancelled if my full time license is cancelled?

​No, however their status will be set to “On Hold" until a new full time license is activated or one of the part time licenses is converted into a full time license​

Will I be fined for not renewing my part time license?

​In case the part-time license was not renewed during the mentioned period, the status will be set to Expired with no penalties and can no longer be renewed.​

How to convert a Part time License into a Full time License?

Once the Full time license is cancelled, the part time license status becomes “on hold” that is when the part time facility has the option to convert the part time license into a Full time License through the “Activate Professional License” service (the new full time license will have the same part time license expiry date)

Why was I given a trainee restriction on my position?

​According to the PQR criteria and the credentialing team evaluation, you are required to provide additional experience / CPD points to obtain the requested position (e.g. Tier 3 degrees, gap of practice, fresh graduate). Once the requirements are fulfilled, you may update your registration.​

How do I to get a trainee title with DHA?

First, you have to complete the Self-Assessment Tool” service selecting the main position, then proceed into the manual application. The credentialing team will put a trainee restriction on your registration  

Where can I complete the required training for my license?

​The required training should be a hands-on training in a training approved facility. If it you wish to train in Dubai, you may check for approved facilities in Dubai Medical Registry (filter by Add-Ons: Clinical Training Service and contact the facility for more details). If the training is going to be conducted outside UAE, then a valid license/ registration covering the training period must be provided (for physicians, dentists and nurses/ midwives)​

What should be done in case the facility is refusing to cancel my license?

​You should apply for “Raise License Cancelation Issues" service uploading supportive documents (e.g. New employment visa under new registered healthcare facility, confirmation of employment Visa or labor card cancellation, Temporary permission to work in another healthcare facility from Ministry Human Resources and Emiratization) and DHA shall take the necessary action.​

My license is revoked, when can I re-apply for a new one?

​DHA shall not accept applications by revoked applicants/Healthcare professionals prior to a period of two (2) years from the date of revocation. Re-applying will be subject to MPC approval and fulfilment of the PQR criteria including positive report of new documents and assessment (if applicable).​

What is meant by the Good Standing Certificate (GSC) requested in the registration application?

​Good Standing certificate is a certificate issued by the Medical Council / Regulatory body, confirming the healthcare professional's Good Standing (Lack of any malpractice) during his/her practice. The submitted letter must not be older than 6 months on the date of applying.​

Do all health Professionals need to provide Good Standing Certificate/Letter when applying for DHA license?

​All Physicians, Dentists, and Nurses are required to provide a Good Standing Certificate (GSC). For Allied Healthcare and TCAM Professional GSC will be requested on a case per case bases depending on various scenarios.(e.g. being licensed by another health Authority in UAE)​

Where can the Good Standing Certificate be obtained from after the application gets approved?

You will be able to view our Good Standing Certificate by accessing “My Applications” page under Closed applications tabs 

What is the validity of the DHA GSC?

DHA Good Standing Certificate has no validity only an issue date. It is up to the receiving authority to decide whether to accept the certificate or not

Will the Good Standing certificate include the name of the facility(s) I work(ed) at?

No, the facility(s) details shall not be included in the issued certificate.

Can the good standing certificate be sent abroad?

Yes, DHA shall provide a stamped envelope with the letter that can be forwarded by courier (arranged by the professional).

My license is cancelled/ expired, can I apply for a good standing certificate?

Yes, any currently or previously DHA licensed healthcare professional may apply for a GSC (unless licensed for less than 3 months).

My license status is revoked/ suspended; can I apply for a good standing certificate?

Yes, however, the letter will not be issued as “Good Standing Certificate” but as a “Letter of Current Status” instead with details of the revocation / suspension.

What is the process to verify my license details as requested by other authority(s)?

​You or any person repressing you (must have a copy of your valid passport) should visit our office with the required document/ form. The required fees must be paid (AED 500) and the form shall be completed within 5 working days.​

How to add CME/CPD points?

Professionals are responsible to upload and keep track of their CME/CPD points. To claim points, please access Update CPD Points service. The required CPD points should be completed every year from January to December. 

I did not manage to complete all the required CPD points within the given period, what will happen now?

If you underachieve the CPD targets for the year, then the CPD points must be made up in the following year. If you have completed more than your target for that year, up to 10 points will be transferred to next year. 

If I have two active positions under different categories, how many CPD points do I have to provide?

​If there are multiple categories under the healthcare professional license, the target CPD points are combined (the sum of required CPD points for each category).​

Can I pay my fines/ violations in installments?
