Under the patronage of Hamdan bin Mohammed, Dubai will host the World Hospital Congress in November 2022. More than 1000 participants from 60 countries are expected to attend the conference.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 20 October, 2022: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, the Dubai Health Authority will co-host the 45th International Hospital Federation’s World Hospital Congress.
The conference will be held at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre (DWTC), from 9 to 11 November 2022, with pre-congress activities taking place on 8th November. This year’s overarching theme is ‘Global Learnings, Local Actions: Sustainable Healthcare’.
More than 1000 participants from 60 countries are expected to attend the conference.
During the press conference held today, the DHA highlighted the importance of this global event and that Dubai won the bid to host this prestigious conference after intense competition from many cities in the world.
The congress is a unique global forum that brings together IHF Members and leaders of hospitals, health services, and healthcare organizations.
Dr Ramadan Al Blooshi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Conference said during the press conference which was held at DHA’s headquarters in Al Jaddaf that the conference, organized by the Dubai Health Authority, in cooperation with the World Hospital Federation, will discuss a number of themes related to sustainable health care.
He said that the congress will discuss the latest global developments related to health care challenges faced by hospitals around the world, better application practices, innovations, smart solutions and digital technology in the health sector as well as how to provide sustainable health services to members of society and ensure the service continuity during and after crises.
The conference will also discuss the challenges and solutions of the health care workforce, ways and processes to ensure the well-being of health care providers, attention to comprehensive patient-centered health care to improve outcomes, the importance of building knowledge, skills and confidence for the success of a leader, and the role of leadership in building and shaping successful health institutions.
Al Blooshi added that the conference will discuss green hospitals and sustainability.
He said: “ Good practices and innovations from hospitals combatting climate change and its impact across low, middle, and high-income settings will be discussed during the conference. The conference will discuss everything related to sustainability from supply chain management, technology solutions, hospital design and development to green leadership and governance.”
Dr. Farida Al Khaja, Chair of the Scientific Committee of the conference, highlighted that more than 30 scientific sessions that will be attended by 150 speakers that will take place over the course of the three days. She said that the sessions will review the innovations and health solutions adopted by hospital leaders and global healthcare decision-makers in light of the lessons learnt from the COVID-19 pandemic. The sessions will discuss ways to ensure flexibility and sustainability in healthcare provision.
The conference will also focus on the impact of technology and its role in facing potential challenges.
Dr. Al Khaja said that the conference constitutes a valuable opportunity for participants and decision-makers from different countries of the world to exchange expertise and experience, develop medical protocols for hospitals, modernize systems and means of diagnosis and treatment, as well as support medical research related to patient safety within hospitals, medical centers and clinics. .
Dr. Al-Khaja said 30 workshops will precede the launch of the conference and that executive leaders across various international hospitals will participate in the workshops.
She said that the conference will be accompanied by a specialized medical exhibition in which more than 13 local, regional and international companies will present their latest developments and health innovations related to various medical specialties.
