Initiative in Organ Donation "HAYAT Program "- Official Attempt in Guinness World Records

Dear DHA Stakeholders
Organ Donation and Transplantation as one of the medical miracles of the twentieth century, has prolonged and improved the lives of hundreds of thousands of patients worldwide due to the countless acts of generosity by organ donors and their families, which made organ donation & transplantation not only a life-saving therapy but a shining symbol of human Solidarity, Tolerance and Coexistence.
The UAE Organ donation and Transplantation has been rated by the International Society for Organ donation as the fastest Growing deceased donation program with 417 % over last 5 years.
The program had more than 53 nationalities who either donated or benefited from organ donation and transplantation with many inspiring stories.
The New Federal Law ( 25 ) 2023 by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan the President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi supports the UAE program advance to new Horizons.
The UAE law ( article 3 ) for organ donation and transplantation mandates fair distribution of the donated human organs to patients as per their health conditions, regardless of gender, race, religion, or social or financial status. The UAE law ( article 16 ) further gives priority points for Organ allocation for the following:
- The living donor ( those who donated a kidney or part of their liver during ) and any of his/ her relatives up to the fourth degree
- Those who registered ( registered in HAYAT ) to donate their organs and any of his/ her relatives up to the fourth degree
- The deceased donor's relatives up to the fourth degree.
DHA stakeholders have been key strategic partner of the National Program for organ donation and Transplantation since started and hence would strongly encourage all of you (along with our respective families , friends and networks ) to participate in today’s Guinness World Records ( as per attached Flyer )
Guinness World Record Challenge :
The highest Number of Registration into HAYAT within ONE Hour Time frame – online Today Wednesday 31st 2 pm to 3 pm – in person presence is NOT required.
Please prepare for your HAYAT registration during specified time between 2 pm to 3 pm and encourage your colleagues, friends , family and social networks to register during this ONE HOUR window
Also, another Guinness world record for HAYAT is planned for Saturday February 10th 2024 during Organ donation and transplantation conference
and there will be recognition for supporting organizations for the Guinness World record for organ donation ( HAYAT support ).
