Overview
The Health Data and Information Analysis Department’s mandate was documented when the Dubai Health Authority was established under law 13 of 2007. [Article 5, Section 9] notes: “Develop the necessary standards for implementing and managing the health information systems in the Emirate.”
Our Mission
To improve access, quality, health status and efficiency in the Dubai health sector by expanding access to high-quality health information and facilitating the efficient flow and exchange of information among patients, providers, funders and regulators with a focus on transparency and confidentiality and a balance between standardization and autonomy.
What is eHealth?
eHealth is an emerging field in the intersection of medical informatics, public health and business, referring to health services and information delivered or enhanced through the Internet and related technologies.
In a broader sense, the term characterizes not only a technical development, but also a state-of-mind, a way of thinking, an attitude, and a commitment for networked, global thinking, to improve health care locally, regionally, and worldwide by using information and communication technology.
