About The Scholarship
As part of the Dubai Health Authority’s (DHA) policy of supporting high school graduates, as well as meeting the community’s need for qualified nursing staff, cooperation has been established between DHA and different Universities and colleges throughout the UAE in order to prepare well trained nursing staff that can provide high quality health care services in the field of nursing and dental services.
Programs Offered:
- Dental Diploma Program
- Nursing Bachelor Program
Dental Diploma Program
In collaboration with the Higher Colleges of Technology, DHA has sponsored the first program in the field of Dental Nursing. Graduates of this program receive a diploma in Dental Nursing. The program is designed to produce dental nurses who will be able to serve the community efficiently by helping them become specially certified dental assistants.
During the period of study (two to three years) DHA covers the following:
- Tuition fees.
- Laptops for students.
- Financial incentives during the study period, ranging from Dhs. 2,500 a month with annual increases of Dhs. 500.
- Graduation Awards (Dhs. 12,000 – Dhs. 18,000).
- Awards for participants with an overall GPA of (A).
- Training opportunities within DHA Hospitals and Health Centers during the study period.
- Job opportunities at DHA for graduates immediately after the completion of study.
Selection Criteria
- Must be a UAE national or Arab resident within the UAE.
- Must have passed their high school exam with a minimum of 70% (In a Science or Art section)
- Must fulfill selection criteria and requirements of the Higher College of Technology.
- The candidate will be asked to sign a contract with DHA.
Nursing Bachelor Program
The Nursing Bachelor Program is coordinated with Deewan of H.H. The Ruler of Sharjah and is based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between DHA and Sharjah University. DHA sponsors the Nursing Program in Sharjah University where students receive a Bachelor Degree in Nursing allowing them to be efficient in serving the community by providing qualified services within the field of nursing.
- During the period of study (four years) the Deewan of H.H. The Ruler of Sharjah covers all study related expenses including books and accommodation (for UAE nationals).
- During the period of study DHA covers the following:
- Tuition fees.
- Laptops for students.
- Financial incentives during the study period, ranging from Dhs. 2,500 a month with annual increases of Dhs. 500.
- Graduation Awards (Dhs 24000).
- Awards for participants with an overall GPA of (A).
- Training opportunities within DHA Hospitals and Health Centers during the study period.
- Job opportunities at DHA for graduates immediately after the completion of study.
Selection Criteria
- Must be UAE nationals or Arab residents within the UAE.
- Must have passed their high school exam with a minimum of 70% (In a Science section).
- Must have received a high school certificate within the last 3 years.
- Must have passed the TOEFL examination with a minimum score of 500 or have passed the IELTS examination with 5.5.
- Fulfill the necessary selection criteria and requirements of Sharjah University.
- Sign the undertaking with DHA.
