Mission
To assist the employees of Dubai Health Authority (DHA) in meeting their customers' needs, through high quality and innovative educational programs, in collaboration with world renowned educational institutes.
Goals
To equip the Medical, Paramedical, Technical and Administrative employees of DHA to provide high quality health care services in line with international standards, by providing quality educational programs for the public and private healthcare sectors, through establishing partnerships with the prominent educational providers.
Clinical Training
The Professional Development Center (PDC) organizes clinical courses for medical staff, nurses and paramedical staff, in order to develop their professional needs. Programs include:
Coordination of the participants in national & international conferences.
Planning and organizing medical conferences and symposia.
Planning & organizing medical staff, nurses and paramedical staff clinical training course and workshops.
Planning & organizing basic and advanced surgical skills.
Train the trainers programs.
Life Support Courses (provider & instructor courses):
BLS: Basic Life Support.
ACLS: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
PHTLS: Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (provider and instructor courses).
PEARS: Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization.
Heart Saver and First Aid courses for the general public.
Administrative & Technical Training
The Professional Development Center (PDC) organizes administrative and technical courses for all DHA staff. Its functions include providing administrative and technical courses that encompass:
Planning for training programs based on functional diversity.
Preparation of training programs for staff and overseeing the implementation and evaluation.
Ensuring the implementation of the training programs within the necessary requirements for staff training in cooperation with the competent bodies concerned, both internally and externally.
Reviews and updates of training strategies periodically, in line with new developments.
Communication with training institutions and coordinators in order to collect basic information about the target groups.
Summer Training
The Dubai Health Authority’s main strategy is to arm students with the necessary experience and expertise. The Summer Training Program is designed to refine and develop scientific and practical skills for students.
Introduction to the Summer Training Program:
• The program is a thumbnail practice.
• Target Group: Students and learners from high schools and Universities.
• Training Period: Eight weeks starting from the summer vacation.
• Training Hours: Six hours daily from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
• Training Locations: The Hospitals and Sections and Departments of the Dubai Health Authority in relation to the areas of the participant’s chosen specialties.
• Purpose of Training: Provide students with practical experience, develop functional skills and deepen theoretical concepts they received through practice during the summer vacation.
