Advanced ECG is a two-day course of theoretical and practical workshops delivered by experienced cardiac professionals. This workshop addresses the needs of nurses, doctors and allied health professionals who encounter ECG monitoring and traces. The aim of the workshop is to learn to interpret 12 lead ECGs or rhythm strips using a systematic approach. Course content involves:
- Anatomy and physiology of the heart and conduction system
- Recording a 12 lead ECG
- The normal 12 lead ECG and cardiac axis
- Atrial abnormalities
- Ventricular abnormalities
- Disorders of conduction
- Ischemia, infarction and the ECG
- Rhythm recognition
- Clinical case studies delivered by practicing clinicians
