All nurses/midwives are required to renew their professional license every year. The required documents are:
(i) Valid malpractice insurance
(ii) Evidence of completing CPD/CME points
To renew the professional license, the applicant must demonstrate compliance to the requirements of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) -formerly known as Continuous Medical Education (CME)-:
- 15 credit points of accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD/CME) every year. CPD/CME points shall be accredited by one of the accrediting bodies recognized by DHA
- The CPD/CME certificates can be uploaded through the "Sheryan System".

Applicants who knowingly submit falsified documents will be liable for prosecution as per UAE Federal Law. This would also include an immediate termination of the professional license issued by the DHA.
