United Arab Emirates, Dubai, 19 July, 2010: The DHA recently organised a blood donation drive to encourage the public to come forward and donate blood.
The campaign known as ‘Every drop can save a life’ was organised by the Medical Fitness Centre in cooperation with the blood donation centre.
The campaign took place at the Al Muhaisnah Medical Centre, which is the biggest medical fitness centre in the Emirate of Dubai.
Maisa Al Bustani, Director of the Medical Fitness Centre Department at the DHA said the aim of the drive is to collect blood and blood products which is required regularly by hospitals in Dubai and therefore she encouraged healthy individuals to come forward and donate blood.
The Blood Donation Centre located in the Al Wasl Hospital premises regularly supplies blood and blood products to hospitals across the Emirate of Dubai and a major requirement of blood comes from the Trauma Centre to deal with accident and emergency cases and the Thalassemia Centre, which requires blood for regular blood transfusions.
