Rashid Hospital places a high priority on quality and patient safety

  • Mission:

• To improve the functioning of the hospital.
• To assist the organization in achieving a commitment to quality.
• To assist departments in meeting their identified and expressed level of quality.
• To assist the organization in creating a culture of quality, patient safety and learning.
• To lead the process for maintaining the accreditation of the Joint Commission International (JCI)

  • Objectives:

• Coordinates all quality improvement activities for enhancing patient safety through the Hospital’s Joint Commission accreditation.
• Responsible for a hospital-wide Risk Management Program which uses the patient safety incident reporting system, etc.
• Coordinates the quality improvement and patient safety programs of the hospital that are dedicated to quality care, patient satisfaction and meticulous attention to patient safety.
• Facilitating and coordinating the development of integrated patient-focused/care programs, such as JCI Disease or Condition Specific Care Certification.

  • Other Main Functions:

• Patient and System Tracer Activity
• Policy and Procedures
• Quality Improvement
• Educational activities:
• Weekly Thursday meetings
• Interns induction program and bi/monthly training sessions
• Bi/monthly nursing/quality meetings
• General orientation program
• Mandatory education
• Other training workshops
• Performance measurement
• Assisting the departments in identifying key performance indicators
• Data aggregation and analysis
• Development and trending of performance indicators
• Data management, including handling all aspects of data recording and trending for:
• Incident reporting
• Sentinel events and root cause analysis
• Clinical Review

  • Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA):

Rashid Hospital was accredited by the Joint Commission International on 25th October 2007
