The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department is an integral part of the team of healthcare services of Rashid Hospital. Rehabilitation, which is considered to be the third stage of medicine, targets patients with residual functional loss following conventional medical and or surgical management. Thus, in line with the vision and mission of this hospital, we are committed to providing our patients excellence in quality of service and products through our multidisciplinary team approach.
We are indeed the largest physical medicine and rehabilitation department in the UAE which provides comprehensive multidisciplinary care all under one roof. We have some of the most unique services which are exclusive in the UAE such as our advanced Prosthetic and orthotic services which are capable of creating cutting edge products, and the Anaplastology Lab, the first and only such service in the UAE, where life-like restorations for disfigured patients are custom built. Other services which we have pioneered are complete decongestive therapy and proliferation therapy.
This department was recently recognized as an outstanding clinical service unit and was given the Sheikh Hamdan Award. More recently, a member of its staff was awarded the Sheikh Mohammed Excellence Award for creative excellence. Other members of the staff have also received awards for quality of service over the years.
